BCU One Star

For those who may never have been in a kayak or Canoe before and wishing to take the challenge, this course will cover all the basics and incorporate the BCU Paddlesport one Star Award. Relaxed and flexible, this Introduction to Kayaking and Canoeing will build confidence and instil a desire to try more.

BCU Two Star

From your solid base of experience you have gained on an introductory course; this two day course will see you progressing quickly in a range of boats to achieve a level of skill and knowledge that will give you the confidence to take paddlesport in which ever direction you wish, be it sea kayaking, surf, canoe or white water.

Foundation Safety and Rescue Award

This award introduces the fundamental skills and theory of safety and rescue in a flat water environment. We look at towing, deep water rescues and throwline rescues as well as the core principles of safety around water. The course is run in both kayak and canoe.
